Meet Brad
Brad Osborne
The Best Choice for County Commissioner
While others in the race for County Commissioner can talk about protecting taxpayers and controlling government spending… Brad Osborne has done it! Now he’ll bring his unique mix of professional and personal experience to county government to make a difference for all of us.
Twice elected by his neighbors to serve as a South Whitehall Township Commissioner, Brad is taking decisive action to bring fiscal discipline and business-world initiatives to government. The result? Today, his township is one of the best-run and most affordable in all of Lehigh County.
In more than seven years as a Township Commissioner, Brad has never increased property taxes. Instead, he is a strong voice for taxpayers and fiscally conservative government who has focused on smart ideas to control spending while still delivering essential services. He also worked with his fellow commissioners to build up their “rainy day fund” to avoid property tax increases during these tough economic times when other governments are seeing massive property tax increases.
Every year, Brad reviews his township’s budget line-by-line to offer cost controlling initiatives and, as the President of the Board of Commissioners, his ideas to ferret out non-essential expenses have been instituted. As our County Commissioner, he will continue this type of exhaustive budget review to protect our tax dollars.
Brad is committed to helping Lehigh County families find the good-paying jobs they need. That is why he serves as a member of Lehigh County’s General Purpose Authority, which works with the Lehigh County Economic and Community Development Fund to help attract new employers and keep the jobs we have. As County Commissioner, he will work to make Lehigh County more attractive to job creators through regulatory reform and other initiatives.
A successful businessman, Brad is Plant Manager for GEO Specially Chemicals, a South Whitehall Township manufacturer providing unique chemicals to the worldwide paints and coating industry. In that role, Brad works everyday to meet budgets, control costs and create and maintain family sustaining jobs for our region – skills he will put to good use to help Lehigh County taxpayers.
Brad and his wife Janice have been very active community volunteers. Brad currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Allentown Rescue Mission. A cum laude graduate of the University of Virginia and a graduate of the Lehigh University Manufacturing Leadership Institute, he is past Chair of the Lehigh Valley Engineering Council and past Chair of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
